Games you might not have played, that are now free on Xbox GamePass
All four of these games are between six and eight years old and can be found on GamePass. It is possible you might have missed playing some of these but in my opinion, they are worth going back for.
First on my list is Rise of the Tomb Raider. A great reboot of the series made by Crystal Dynamics in 2015. This is a fantastic survival adventure game. You take Lara Croft on her first tomb-raiding expedition. This well-crafted story is told from a third-person viewpoint, with puzzles to solve, collectibles to find, and plenty of gunplay.
Second on this list is Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, made by Machine Games, a Bethesda studio, also in 2015.Another reboot of a classic game series. A prequel to Wolfenstein the New Order this first-person shooter offers a good story with intense combat. All the Wolfenstein games from this rebooted series are available on GamePass. These four games are all worth your time, and at ten to twelve hours to complete each one, the whole series could be finished in a couple of weeks.
The third game to recommend is Titan Fall 2. This game was made by Electronic Arts and Respawn in 2016. The game was released alongside other big-name titles that year, so it was overlooked by many gamers. One of the best mech games I have played and received much praise from critics for its campaign that year. It was one of the first games I remember having the ability to wall run in. The combat felt good inside and outside of your mech and it is very satisfying to call your mech from orbit to land on enemies. If you have not played this one, it is a quick fifteen to twenty hours.
The fourth and final game on the list is Prey from Bethesda Softworks in 2017. This game is a bit longer than the last three, clocking in at forty to fifty hours. A single-player player first-person game was a surprise to me how good it was. You are a part of an experiment involving a strange new lifeform that goes wrong. These strange creatures can hide themselves from you by appearing as common things around you such as a coffee cup or a chair. There are a variety of different aliens to deal with and weapons to craft and upgrade. The story ends well and is worth playing to the end. I found this to be a far better game than I had expected, and I highly recommend it.
All four of these games I have played to completion and really enjoyed. If you have a GamePass subscription, try them for yourself.
I would love to hear what others think of them, so comment below!
